“Strengthening Agriculture and Allied Sector Contributions to India’s National Biodiversity Action Plan (NBAP) 2008 and National Biodiversity Targets (NBTs)” project will support the efforts of Government of India (GOI) with increased capacity at national, state and local levels through the development of policy with strategy and action plan on mainstreaming biodiversity conservation into agriculture and allied sectors.

The first stakeholders Meeting was chaired by Dr. B. Meenakumari (Chairperson, NBA), to discuss the operational issues and next steps for the project. Additional Secretary, MoEF & CC; Secretary, NPSC; Chairperson and Secretary of NBA, Chennai; Members of State Biodiversity Board of the three selected states, Punjab, Mizoram and Kerala; and officers from FAO attended the meeting.
