Mr. Stephen Rudgard
FAO Representative

FAO Representative develops and maintains relations with the Government and other institutions in the country and liaises on behalf of the Regional Representative (RR) with regional organizations located in the country, such as ASEAN Secretariat in Indonesia.

The FAO Representative guides all units in FAO on country assistance priorities and provides guidance to FAO staff in the country on advocacy, policy, security and general managerial issues. The FAO Representative works in the line of command of the Director-General with whom he generally communicates through the Office for Support to Decentralized Offices (OSD).

The role of the FAO Representative has significantly expanded over the last few years, especially in regard to his increasing responsibilities within the project cycle and his interaction with the UN Country Team (UNCT).
