Perspectives in CEECFOODS cooperation

 

The future perspectives:

 

Nearer

-            Continuation of cooperation is essential for the fuller development the project (in building up the regional food composition database especially needed)

       The most essential and desirable improvements include:

-            Standardization of units in four local databases

-            Differences among values in the same type of product in four local bases must be discussed and understanding the origin  of differences

-            English names for all local bases must be introduced

-            Workshop on food composition data exchange and progress of ALIMENTA program should be organized perhaps as a small satellite conference on the 9th European Nutrition Conference in Rome 1-4 October 2003

 

Next

-             To introduce tagnames to integrate new national databases into CEECFOODS database

-             To organize the training course maybe by internet

-             Regional Food Composition database should be developed within the SEUR Food and Nutrition Home Pages and providing links to the home pages of national institutions responsible for food composition data.
