FAO/INFOODS distance learning tools
The FAO/INFOODS FOOD COMPOSITION STUDY GUIDE (available in English, French and Spanish) has been developed by FAO/INFOODS to reach a wide audience in need of knowledge about food composition and food biodiversity. It is intended to be used by self-learners, in conjunction with food composition courses, and by universities and schools to include food composition into their curricula.
New FAO/INFOODS e-learning Course on Food Composition
FAO/INFOODS is developing an e-learning course on food composition which is intended mainly for universities to easily incorporate food composition into their curricula. It will also be useful for self-learners and food composition courses. The e-learning course will supplement the FAO/INFOODS Food Composition Study Guide and its accompanying 12 PowerPoint Presentations (see above). It will be available in English. You will be able to download it free-of-charge from the this website and receive it on CD. We intend to launch it in September 2013 at the 10th IFDC in Granada. We would like to invite those working in universities to signal if they intend to include such a course in their curriculum (and if so if you would need a CD). This information would be useful to know how many CDs should be produced. Please send request to ruth.charrondiere@fao.org.
