Food composition data interchange
INFOODS Food Composition Data Interchange Handbook
Information and guidelines about requirements for food composition data are provided in this book. It focuses on the identification of nutrient and non-nutrient components of foods, the computer representation and accurate interchange of food composition data, and on the organization, compilation, and content of food composition tables and bases. Structure and rules are provided for moving data files between data centres in a way that preserves all of the available information.
EUROFOODS/COST 99 Recommendations for Data Interchange
Mainly based on the interchange work previously done by INFOODS, the COST 99 / EUROFOODS working group on food data interchange aimed to establish active electronic food data interchange within Europe. Existing international standards and recommendations were reviewed to develop procedures and software-tools for food data interchange.
Technical workshop on Standards for food composition data interchange, Rome, 19-22 January 2004
The main objective of the workshop was to develop recommendations and agree on data elements, definitions and a format for interchange of food composition data. Part of the process included a review of existing interchange systems and formats and analysis of their compatibilities and feasibility of use. more
