Description

The asparagus harvesting is done digging the soil around the plant and cutting it near the collar (3-5 cm below ground level); with some tools the plant is pulled out from the soil using their lever action. These tools are used for the asparagus mechanized harvesting too. - The plants of lettuce are harvested by cutting through the plant's stem near the soil surface. The serrated blade of the knife in figure1 is 28 cm long.
