Methodology for Estimating Reductions of GHG Emissions from Mosaic Deforestation

The methodology is for estimating and monitoring GHG emissions of project activities that reduces mosaic deforestation. Carbon stock enhancement of degraded and secondary forests that would be deforested in the absence of th REDD project activity is also included in this methodology

Water in the Arab World: Management Perspectives and Innovations

This volume is intended to serve as a water handbook. It represents the collective knowledge about water resources management acquired over recent years, both within the World Bank water team and with counterparts working in the Arab countries of North Africa and the Middle East (MNA). The chapters offer a cornucopia of ideas and themes. Some chapters are based on background papers prepared for the 2007 “MNA Development Report on Water.” Others draw on sector work prepared at the request of client countries. Yet others summarize observations based on study tours or other learning events sponsored by the World Bank.

Agriculture and Forestry, Partners to preserve Biodiversity

With this report the European farmers (Copa) and European agri-cooperatives (Cogeca) want to draw the attention to the fact that farming is needed for maintaining biological diversity. To ensure that sustainable production and nature conservation go hand in hand, cooperation between the agricultural sector and society in meeting nature conservation targets plays a key role. Copa and Cogeca members take biodiversity loss very seriously and have encouraged a variety of measures at national level to enhance the positive environmental impacts of farming and to promote the sustainable use of biological resources.

FAO datasets on land use, land use change, agriculture and forestry and their applicability for national greenhouse gas reporting

This paper aims at giving an overview of FAO’s global and regional datasets that may prove useful for compilers of national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories. It also describes some of FAO’s experience from the application of existing IPCC guidelines and gives some suggestions on how the FAO datasets can be used together with the IPCC guidelines formodeling emissions.

Supply Chain Leadership Collaboration (SCLC) Pilot Results and Findings Report

The SCLC pilot is a successful first step in creating a consistent approach for suppliers to report their climate change efforts to their customers and other stakeholders. A consistent approach to collecting carbon supply chain information is valuable to minimize the burden for suppliers to report their emissions to their customers and to drive greenhouse gas reductions along product supply chains.
