TCIA Service Chief - Alberta Mascaretti started her career in 1984 in Nigeria as an Associate Professional Officer and then worked with CARE International in Chad. In 1990, she joined the Organization’s Investment Centre Division as agricultural officer, participating and leading missions to support Member Countries together with partners such as the World Bank, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the African Development Bank in the formulation of investment programmes for agricultural development and food security . She worked primarily in Africa but also in Asia, Central and Latin America,. From 2002 to 2008, she worked for FAO’s Special Programme for Food Security as a Food Security Officer in charge of assisting Member Countries in the formulation of comprehensive food security strategies and programmes. She rejoined the Investment Centre Division in September 2008 where she has been involved in technical work and assistance to countries and partners in policy and investment formulation. Ms Mascaretti holds a Diplome d’Etudes Approfondis (DEA) Agriculture Comparée and a Masters in Environmental Management and Rural Development from Wye College in London.
