Meet FAO's new Programme Management Officer

Mr Clifton Wilson is the Representation's newest team member to support the management of the organization's projects and provide overall programme support.

Mr Wilson is an Agronomist with a Masters of Philosophy in Crop Production from the University of the West Indies. He is trained in Project Management, Natural Resource Governance, Agroforestry Systems, Climate Change and Agricultural Extension Methods and has special expertise in the production and marketing of commodity crops such as bananas, cocoa and yams.

Mr Wilson has trained and mentored over 150 extension personnel in Jamaica and is known within Jamaica’s agriculture sector as a Master Trainer and for his work done in extension methods.  

Before joining FAO he worked for nine years with ACDI/VOCA as Senior Programme Advisor where he worked on USAID funded projects focusing on the Ecosystem Based-Adaptation (EbA) approach, Farmer Field School and Agroforestry Systems  He also worked as The Director of Technical Services and Special Project Manager  with the European Union Banana Support Programme for 14 years with special emphasis on export banana production and GLOBAL certification

Mr. Wilson is certified as a Facilitator and Quality Management System Auditor by the Bureau of Standards in Jamaica.

He will support the management of FAO projects across Jamaica, The Bahamas and Belize.
