نشاطات الفاو على معايير ادارة المعلومات الزراعية في موسوعة ويكيبيديا Wikipedia
موسوعة ويكيبيديا التعاونيه المجانية هي الموسوعة الاسرع نموا على الانترنت. زارها 600000 زائر يوميا حتى نهايه عام 2005، وهناك اكثر من 4 ملايين مقالة في 200 لغه. إن نجاح ويكيبيديا المذهل ليس فقط بسبب "سياسة التحرير المفتوحة" او مجموعه المواضيع التي تغطيها. انها تمثل المجتمع العالمي الذي يعتمد علي شبكه فلسفه ويب خاصه. كثير من اتباعه هم من كبار المتخصصين في نفس المجالات التي تزود الموسوعة مجانا في مجال المعرفه ضمن حركة الأرشيف المفتوح.
إن جهود المنظمه على تعزيز وتطوير معايير اداره المعلومات الزراعيه الخاصة بالمجتمعات الزراعية في العالم موثقه حاليا في موسوعة ويكيبيديا. في الوقت الحاضر أهم المواضيع الواردة في ويكيبيديا هي :
- مجموعة عناصر البيانات الوصفية الزراعية (AgMES) المطورة من قبل منظمة فاو لوصف واستخراج مصادر المعلومات،
- نظام خدمة الأنتولوجيا الزراعية (AOS) والتي اعدت كخدمة مرجعية لتوحيد المصطلحات الزراعية وتركيبتها بعدة لغات لاستخدامها بانظمة زراعية عديدة وتوفير الخدمات بهدف تحقيق مزيد من التفاعل والتشغيل المتبادل بين الأنظمة الزراعية،
- مكنز اجروفوك الزراعي (AGROVOC)، المعد لتغطية كافة المواضيع الزراعية والغابات والثروة السمكية والأغذية وغيرها كالبيئة، و
- معايير ادارة المعلومات الزراعية (AIMS) الغاية من هذه المبادرة العمل على تسهيل مشاركة المعلومات، والتغلب علي المشاكل الناجمه عن الموارد الموجوده غالبا في التطبيقات ذات الملكيه والتي تستخدم نماذج بيانات مختلفة. وغالباً ما نلاحظ جهل مصممي نظم المعلومات لمناهج التصميم ومعايير البيانات الوصفية أو الأدوات او التطبيقات المتاحة مجاناً. هذا المشروع يعمل علي تعزيز المعايير القائمه والمساهمة في ايجاد معايير جديده.
FAO Case Study on semantically navigable “Food, Nutrition and Agriculture Journal” is published by W3C
One current application of the Semantic Web in the agricultural domain is the AGRIS Application Profile (or AGRIS Application Ontology) consisting of concepts describing document-like information objects such as title, creator and publisher. Used in conjunction with AGROVOC (the multilingual agricultural thesaurus), it creates an information retrieval application that performs query expansion by exploiting the relationships between concepts.
One major advantage of an ontology-based system over a traditional one lies in its ability to perform concept-based searches. The FNA (Food Nutrition and Agriculture) portal is a successful example of how the use of ontologies can improve search results. Metadata about each article in the FNA Journal (available in FAO’s Corporate Document Repository and the FAO’s bibliographical database) were combined and converted to a single RDFS format. The result is a portal that allows for concept-based as well as multilingual searches.
Further studies are being carried out to further exploit semantic relationships and develop user friendly services.
