World Food Day

October 16th is World Food Day.

Every year on this date people organize events to draw attention to the fact that hundreds of millions of people are hungry or living under the constant threat of hunger. World Food Day events don’t just point out the problem, they show what we can do to solve it and build solidarity for action.

Why October 16th? That’s the anniversary of FAO’s founding in 1945. But it’s not FAO that’s important. The main thing is that the world remembers the hungry and unites in the fight against hunger.
