FAO-BiotechNews is an e-mail newsletter launched by FAO in 2002 about agricultural biotechnologies in developing countries. The news items focus on the activities of FAO, of other United Nations agencies/bodies and of the 15 CGIAR research centres, plus the activities from a small number of other major-intergovernmental organisations. The newsletter covers all food and agricultural sectors (crops, forestry, fisheries/aquaculture, livestock, agro-industry) and a wide range of biotechnology tools (e.g. use of molecular markers for selection/diagnostics etc., artificial insemination, triploidisation, biofertilisers, micropropagation, genomics, genetic modification etc.).
