Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) is an International Cooperative Information System which comprises an abstracting and indexing service covering the world's literature on the science, technology, management, and conservation of marine, brackish water, and freshwater resources and environments, including their socio-economic and legal aspects.

The ASFIS List was established in 2000 to include species items selected according to their interest or relation to fisheries and aquaculture. CLIMWAT is a climatic database to be used in combination with the computer program CROPWAT. It calculates crop water requirements, irrigation supply and irrigation scheduling for various crops for a range of climatological stations worldwide.

The main purposes of this Programme are protecting health of the consumers and ensuring fair trade practices in the food trade, and promoting coordination of all food standards work undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations.
