"Women play a central role in the supply, management and safeguarding of water, we must make sure that women are not left behind", Ms Annemiek Jenniskens from Women for Water Partnership stated in the first webinar organized by The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) hosted by the FAO Land and Water Division, in collaboration with its Partner on May 12. This webinar, titled “Water Scarcity, an Abundance of Women?” tackled the vital topic of gender in water scarcity.

This webinar welcomed nearly 200 participants from 44 countries. Keynote speaker, Ms. Gerda Verburg, gave an inspiring talk on the importance of empowering women. She compelled participants to "Tell your stories, share your emotions and please continue to be champions for equality."
