Photo library on Land Management Systems and Conservation Agriculture

Introduction

The main goal of the photo library on land management systems and conservation agriculture is to help to introduce practices of conservation agriculture and its benefits in the world by altering the distribution of photos focusing on conservation agriculture. This web representation must not be understood as a final static product but should be modified and updated when necessary. Especially extension services, agricultural research centres and educational institutes can use the photo library to underline the positive known effects on both inputs and outputs on CA in an visually way. Corresponding to the profound benefits of conservation agriculture and to the several management practices used in conservation agriculture the photo library is divided into twelve main subjects. Each of these main subjects is further divided in detailed subclasses. The stage of detail simplifies the search of given photos within a special subject. For each subclass a collection of photos is available. Each photo includes information as the title, the country, the source and a short description.

Acknowledgements The idea of this photo library on land management systems and conservation agriculture originated with José Benites, Land and Plan Nutrient Service of the Land and Water Development Division, who subsequently teamed with Ms. Marisa Matranga who was instrumental in designing the structure of the photo library. Special thanks are due to Ms. Patricia Vega Alba for updating the present version. As with most efforts like this, many other persons were involved.
