The International Network on Participatory Irrigation Management (INPIM) is a global network for the promotion of people, public, private partnerships in irrigation and water resources management. Its a nonprofit registered in Washington DC, USA. INPIM was first launched at the First International Seminar on PIM in Mexico, by staff of the World Bank. The participants of this seminar felt the need to remain in touch with each other and exchange ideas and expertise in the area of PIM. For this reason, they established a network with its own identity that would assist them in pursuing this goal. Eversince its constitution, INPIM has been actively promoting the concept of participatory irrigation management through international seminars, training programs and the newsletters. It closely works with the World Bank. The network has over a thousand members actively involved in the irrigation sector. |
