A search portal for journals (including peer-reviewed journals) developed by the Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (Brazilian National Nuclear Energy Commission).

HINARI

HINARI is an initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with many large academic publishers, eminent universities, and international organizations. HINARI provides online access to a wide range of key biomedical and social science journals. This service may be free or low-cost to institutions in those countries classified by the World Bank as low or lower-middle income according to GNP per capita. Although all users may browse journal abstracts and use a number of free, fulltext references, only those eligible and registered institutions, such as teaching hospitals, academic libraries, professional schools, government agencies, have access to the full text and free access to all Hinari’s services. Registration can be done through WHO country offices, listed at hinari@who.int.

Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA)

The AGORA site provides free access to almost 1000 journals from major scientific publishers in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science, and related social sciences. Agora makes available agricultural information from the best of the academic journals to not-for-profit national academic, research or government institutions in low-income countries. Directory of Open Access Journals

The Directory of Open Access Journals aims to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals so that there will be increased usage and greater impact. This Directory is committed to maintaining comprehensive coverage of open access scientific and scholarly journals under a system of quality content control.

High Wire Press

Stanford University Libraries’ HighWire Press is a repository of over 260 full-text, peer-reviewed online journals and their article content. HighWire Press disseminates primary scientific information and also publishes about 70 journals.

SciELO

Through SciELO, researchers can find scientific journals published on the Internet, which particular focus on the literature of Latin American and Caribbean countries. SciELO also measures the usage and impact of such journals.

Several Latin American national and international institutions are partners in this scientific communication project. There are 279 searchable serials, from collections of journals published in Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Spain, and Venezuela. In addition an online library of health science articles provides access to scientific journals in the field in Ibero-american countries. More countries and more subject areas are being added.

Searching by serial title, publisher names, city of publication, subject, author, or key word will give access to the full text of the articles. One can search in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

SIDALC

A Latin American & Caribbean library consortium sponsored by Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE). It works to bring together the resources of agricultural information services of, and for, the hemisphere. Its vast document collection is known as Agri2000, containing agricultural data provided in order to disseminate information and knowledge in the area of agricultural development.
