Access 

 

On-site consultation

E-finding aids reflecting a specific Division and organized by a FAO classification system are available for on-site consultation only.
Subject based finding aids are also available for the period 1945-1964.

 

Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Closed on official holidays of FAO (enquire in advance). 

 

Access rules and conditions

The FAO Archives are available for consultation by researchers of FAO member countries at their request and based on their research priorities. Requests for access to the archives should be sent to [email protected]  

Once the request is received, the Organization will evaluate it and request additional information if needed and propose a period for the visit to take place. Please note that typically access to the FAO Archives is for one week.

Use of FAO Archives materials should be acknowledged in any research output.

There is a general 15 years closure period of records, special restrictions apply to records of a confidential nature, such as personnel files of separated staff members, confidential reports, etc.
