Library services

The Library service desk is located in the open space of the FAO Library, next to the library entrance close to the UEMOA room.
A Librarian is available to assist from 10:00 until 12:00, Monday through Thursday.

The library is open to external visitors upon request.

The Library service desk is the place to ask if you need help:
Conducting literature search (e.g. finding articles in scholarly journals)
Locating a book
Creating Subject Alerts
Using the library catalogue
Using electronic bibliographic databases

Skype

Need help, but can't get to the library? Now you can chat with the FAO Library on Skype.
From the 1st of October 2016 you can place a video or voice call, chat via instant message and screen share, all at no charge.

Training sessions for FAO employees


The FAO library service offers training sessions to all FAO employees. The sessions include introductory subjects such as exploring the FAO online library catalogue and online resources or more in-depth subjects like how to effectively use online resources, execute literature searches or use bibliographic referencing software, like EndNote.

The training can be organized on a one-to-one or group basis. To schedule your session, please contact the Library service desk at fao-library-reference@fao.org or call 53784/54742 if you are based in headquarters.
