Medium-sized tree cultivated commercially for the nuts in sub-tropical countries. An extremely hard shell covers the two- lobed wrinkled kernel. Walnut oilcake is an excellent feed, containing vitamins A, B1 and B2. The decorticated cake can be used for all animals with good results. Poorly processed cakes turn rancid and give the meat a bad taste.
