The report on “Forests in the ECE Region: Trends and Challenges in Achieving the Global Objectives on Forests” was presented during the UNFF11 side event was jointly organised by UNECE & FAO at the UN headquarters on 13 May, 2015.
The report was prepared as the contribution of the UNECE Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry (COFFI) and the FAO European Forestry Commission (EFC) to the 11th Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests. It examines progress of the forest sector in the ECE Region towards the four Global Objectives on Forests, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007. From FAO, Eva Muller, Director of the Forest Economics, Policy and Products Division, participated in the event and made the opening & closing statements.
