From the 27-28 March 2014 a high-level seminar on Food Price Volatility will take place in Madrid, Spain.
At the event, co-organized by the ULYSSES project, the World Bank (Forum for Agricultural Risk Management and Development), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Policy, Market and Prices team), private and public sector specialists from around the world will participate in presentations and debate on viable policy approaches related to trends in food price volatility.
Amongst FAO participants will be Jean Balié, senior economist and coordinator of the Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies in Africa programme, in the Agricultural Development Economics (ESA) Division, and Mulat Demeke, economist, also working in FAO's ESA Division providing technical support in food and agricultural policy formulation to several African countries.
