MAFAP results presented at international donor meeting
25 Feb 2013
On 25 and 26 February, results of FAO’s Monitoring African Food and Agricultural Policies project (MAFAP) will be presented to international donors in a meeting organized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Washington, D.C.
During this meeting, successful examples of MAFAP’s policy monitoring work in various countries will be shared with a broad audience of representatives from bilateral donors and international financial institutions in a meeting called ‘Agricultural Policies Program: Policy Metrics Convening’. Representatives from the governments of Tanzania and Burkina Faso will also be participating in the meeting.
MAFAP is an initiative of FAO and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to achieve better food and agricultural policies through evidence-based dialogue and the establishment of systematic and sustainable policy monitoring in Africa. During this meeting, participants will review the results of the project so far, and discuss the potential for expansion to other countries and regions.
