In each country where MAFAP works, a project country team is formed, which is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of country-level MAFAP activities. 

At global level, the MAFAP Steering Committee monitors project progress and promotes full engagement of MAFAP's main stakeholders. 

On technical and methodological issues, MAFAP is supported by a Technical Advisory Group with members from universities, research institutes and international organisations.
