Launch of a series of Activity Books for young people

23/07/2018

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has the pleasure to inform the Permanent Representatives of the launch of a series of Activity Books for young people. The series serves as an educational tool for teachers, parents, students and anyone who wishes to learn more about FAO and topics related to the important global issues underlying the Organization’s work.

We have the pleasure to provide the Permanent Representatives with an abstract on each book.

“Your Guide to FAO.”

This book will take children on a journey through FAO’s history. Since its foundation in 1945, FAO has always striven to make the world a fairer place for all, and a large part of this means fighting to eliminate hunger. Zero Hunger is the ultimate goal, to be achieved by the year 2030. We encourage youth to join us in the discovery of FAO and its important mission: Zero Hunger. Download it here.

“Working for Zero Hunger.”

This Activity Book looks at key issues related to climate change and agriculture in an enchanted world. Each illustration explores an important message related to climate change. By joining fairytale characters, children can find solutions to climate change and hunger. Download it here.

“Change the Future of Migration.”

In the last few years, there has been a huge increase in the number of people migrating around the world. Large movements of people are presenting complex challenges, which call for global action. Why are people migrating today and what can we do to give them the choice to stay at home, if it’s safe to do so? This Book has packed some creative answers to these questions. Download it here

“Climate is changing. Food and Agriculture must too.”

This Activity Book looks at key issues related to climate change and agriculture in an enchanted world. Each illustration explores an important message related to climate change. By joining fairytale characters, children can find solutions to climate change and hunger. Download it here.
