Buy fresh and seasonal produce at the Farmers’ Market on
Wednesday 26 February from 12.00 – 16.00 hours, and be sure to visit the Biodiversity for Food Diversity fair, also in the Atrium, from 24 -29 February.

In the spirit of celebrating biodiversity and encouraging the protection of the diversity of plant life, come check out the produce that is locally sourced from Rome and its surrounding region provided to us by the Centro Agroalimentare Roma (CAR).

Some of the produce available includes broccoli rabe, celery, cabbage, curly endives, escarole endives, hunchback cardoon, flowers, aromatic herbs, mushrooms (i.e. champignon, pioppino, cardoncello, trifoliate mix, pleurotus), artichokes, snails and several cosmetic products made with snail slime, pumpkin, white and red hood cabbage, pulses, bieta, potatoes, turnip (white and red), and fresh onions.

In addition, there will be several organic products such as cauliflower Romanesco, Sicilian broccoli, white cauliflower, lettuce, salad, rocket salad, chicory, spinach, chard, zucchini, tomatoes, kiwi, eggs, juices, creams and products in oil.

With the initiative of the Farmers’ Market, FAO aims to support local farmers and food producers who are crucial to promote sustainable food production and healthy diets.
