Meat processing training center established in Tuv province

Meat processing training center was established at Erdene Technical and Vocational Education and Training Center (TVET) in the framework of “Support to Employment Creation in Mongolia” (SECiM C2) EU funded project. The curriculum was developed by the Meat consultant Ms. Enkhbayar, and the first ten students have been trained by the request of the Meat processing unit in Erdene soum of Tuv aimag. The second class of 17 people have been requested by the meat producers to start early next week. 

During the Inauguration event, team led by Mr. Vinod Ahuja, FAOR in Mongolia and Mr. Traian Laurentiu Hristea, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Mongolia held an official meeting with Mr. Batjargal, Governor of Tuv Province and visited the Erdene TVET. Mr. Traian Laurentiu Hristea highlighted that training people who meet the requirements and demand of the labour market is the key to economic development and more importance should be given to TVET and engagement between private sector during his speech.

Ms Khaliunaa, Director of Vocational Education Policy Planning Department of Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and Mr Otgonkhuu Director of Erdene TVET has thanked FAO Mongolia and EU for the valuable support and contribution to the sector. Mr. Vinod Ahuja said "Working closely with the private entity and feeling the market changes and trend is the key to sustainable continuity of the TVET. It is great to see it in reality that the meat processing training center is established where it is most demanded. And  two classes have been requested and filled in is a success." 

Dairy processing training center was established and curriculum was developed back in May 2019 at Erdene TVET with the support of the project. Since then the TVET has started to produce 5 types of dairy product and supplied to local kindergarten and schools for mid-day meal programme. Currently, the TVET is planning to expand the dairy line as the sales and demand of the product is increasing.
