Pastoralism: a crucial way to tackle sustainability challenges in EU and beyond

The European Committee of the Regions with the support of Yolda Initiative, Euromontana and the IYRP Regional Support Group for Europe will host the online conference “Pastoralism: a crucial way to tackle sustainability challenges in EU and beyond” on 14 June 2021 from 09.30 to 13.00 (CET).

It is organized while the United Nations are being encouraged to officially designate 2026 as the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP). The conference will bring suggestions to build an EU Action Plan for Pastoralism and will provide recommendations to support the UN designation of an IYRP.

Marie Clotteau, Director of Euromontana, will moderate a high-level panel discussion on “How can we strengthen the EU and international efforts towards an EU Action Plan for Pastoralism and a United Nations International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists?”

The conference will be held online with interpretation in English, French and Spanish. The deadline to register is 9 June 2021.
