1st European Symposium on Livestock Farming in Mountain Areas

The Free University of Bolzano and Eurac Research Center are promoting a symposium exclusively focused on the topic of mountain livestock farming. The symposium is organized in collaboration with the European Federation of Animal Science, Fibl Switzerland and the University of Padova. A broad range of topics related to livestock farming in mountain areas will be covered during the meeting, such as animal husbandry and breeding, agricultural economics, landscape conservation and social sciences related to mountain livestock; therefore, research contributions of all disciplines relevant to mountain livestock farming are welcome. The gathering of participants from different regions across Europe is expected to stimulate the exchange of knowledge, promote innovation and thus enabling the expertise to be bundled and implemented on a local level throughout Europe.

Important dates:
1 December 2017: Abstract submission and registration opens
28 February 2018: Deadline for abstract submission
15 March 2018: Notification about abstract acceptance
1 April 2018: Final registration for presenters (both oral and poster)
2 June 2018: Registration closes
