Mountain Biodiversity Matters – International Mountain Day 2020

Organized by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat at FAO in celebration of International Mountain Day 2020, a virtual event 'Mountain Biodiversity Matters' will promote dialogue and cooperation on solutions for halting the loss of mountain biodiversity, protecting mountain ecosystems and improving food security and livelihoods in mountains. It also aims to highlight the work that many Mountain Partnership members are doing around the world, including youth and indigenous communities, to ensure that mountain communities are not left behind in the spirit of the UN 2030 Agenda. 

The event will feature a virtual stage and comprise a high-level segment, a session on collaborative actions and programmes, and a roundtable session featuring the Mountain Partnership Goodwill Ambassadors.

'Mountain Biodiversity Matters' will be held from 14.30 to 16.15 CET on 11 December on Zoom. To access the event:
