The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2017 will bring together geoscientists from around the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.

The EGU General Assembly 2017 will be held at the Austria Center Vienna. The assembly is open to scientists of all nations. The entire congress centre is fully accessible by wheelchairs.

Important dates
Participants who need to receive an official letter of invitation in order to obtain a visa, raise travel funds or for administrative purposes should apply for this document by 16 March 2017. Requests received later than this date may not be processed by the embassies. The deadline for early registration and side event/meeting requests is also 16 March 2017.

Please note that the abstract submission deadline expired on 11 January 2017. The meeting programme will be available as of 1 March 2017.

EGU Photo Contest
From 1 February to 1 March 2017, every participant pre-registered for the General Assembly may submit up to three original photos and one moving image on any broad theme related to the Earth, planetary and space sciences for the eighth annual EGU photo competition.
