Festivaletteratura

Since its inception in 1997, the festival of literature “Festivaletteratura” has brought artists from around the world to Mantua, Italy, for gatherings with authors, readings, guided tours, performances and concerts. The festival plays host to famous writers and poets, voices from emerging literatures, essayists, musicians, artists and scientists who foster a complex and unusual notion of literature that includes unconventional literary domains and languages.

Festivaletteratura pays special attention to young people: many of the events, performances and workshops across the five-day event are especially devised for youth, or to be enjoyed by young and old alike. Everything takes place in Mantua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This year, Grammenos Mastrojeni, Focal Point of the Government of Italy to the Mountain Partnership and Chair of the Mountain Partnership Steering Committee, has been invited to speak about mountains at Festivaletteratura.
