Online
From: 07.07.2020 to: 08.07.2020

The Cluster of Cooperation Conéctate A+, facilitated by CONDESAN, the Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) and The University of Zurich, are pleased to invite you to the virtual conference "Climate Change, Health and Mountain Ecosystems and their Governance in Support of Sustainable Development in the Tropical Andes – Central America Region (Andes+)", to be held from 7 to 8 July 2020.

The virtual conference offers an opportunity for continued connection, exchange and learning, addressing the constraints many face with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 for face-to-face interaction. The conference aims to facilitate an interdisciplinary knowledge exchange among researchers and practitioners on ways to identify opportunities and overcome barriers in order to enable the successful implementation of sustainable development and climate change adaptation in the Andes+ region. Through this event, the Conéctate A+ network seeks to promote collaborative arrangements, embed and advance current debates, articulate the rich collective experience of different communities of practice in the Andes+ region, and invite participants to shape and develop the network into the future.

The conference programme, available for download here, features four keynote speakers, 16 parallel sessions and two panel discussions exploring the interactions between climate change, mountain ecosystems and health from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The conference takes place between 7 to 8 July 2020, with two blocks spanning from 13:00 UTC to 18:00 UTC each day (corresponding to 08:00 - 13:00 Lima/Quito/Bogotá time; 07:00 - 12:00 San Salvador time; and 15:00 - 20:00 Central European Summer Time, CEST). The working languages of the conference are English and Spanish.
