The Department of Geography, Kumaun University is organizing an International Science-Policy Conference on 'Adaptive Natural Resource Management for Climate Change Mainstreaming: Options and Opportunities' (ADAPT 2020).

The ADAPT 2020 conference aims to be a scientific platform for the synthesis of cutting-edge scientific knowledge concerning climate change adaptation mainstreaming, which could help policymakers evolve climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction plans for the mountain regions and beyond.

The conference is being organized under the European Commission's cofunded Erasmus+ Project on Sustainable Natural Resource Use in Arctic and High Mountains Areas (SUNRAISE), and is endorsed by the International Geographical Union's (IGU) Commission on Cold and High Altitude Regions. The conference will be followed by a 2 to 3 day field excursion in the picturesque Middle Himalayan Mountains of Uttarakhand.
