Telluride Institute

Telluride Institute (TI) was founded 38 years ago to create strong local environmental and cul-tural programs. Our programs demonstrate innovative and practical methods for building and sustaining healthy human and natural communities. TI also works nationally and inter-nationally, often in partnership with distinguished universities, to address these fundamen-tal issues through the support of emergent and innovative arts and sciences. Rocky Mountain News called TI “the World’s highest altitude think tank”, and others have called us a “think-and-do tank” because of the hands-on, creative, results-oriented nature of our programs. Based in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, we work to meet Wallace Stegner’s challenge to Westerners to ”build a society to match the scenery”
