The Institute of Natural Resource Sciences (IUNR) - as an organisational unit of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Switzerland - promotes the sustainable use of natural resources by training environmental engineers of the future. IUNR provides a wide range of further education courses and carries out applied research and development. Research includes the assessment and monitoring of factors affecting the landscape such as use and production, the promotion of regional added value and the conservation of the landscape as a valuable resource for humans, animals and plants. IUNR aims to promote and strengthen sustainable mountain area development through its work in university education, research and development projects. The holistic systemic approach enables graduates to advance sustainable development with their work. Rural and mountain areas are supported in their future-oriented development through knowledge exchange at academic level and practice-oriented implementation. |
