Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Reduction (CCDR)

The Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Reduction (CCDR) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Tajikistan. CCDR is a successor of the Centre of Competence for Disaster Reduction established by the Disaster Reduction Programme of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDCDRP) in 2005. CCDR contributes to diminishing the impacts of disaster sand climate change in Tajikistan and Central Asia by supporting the professionals, public and local/international organizations to better understand environmental, disaster and climate change risks and how to reduce them. CCDR activities range from technical, public education to technical support for planning and implementing risk reduction measures. The overall goal of the CCDR is to contribute to safer life and livelihood in Tajikistan and Central Asia through provision of education, consultancy and information on environmental management, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation.
