International Amenity Migration Centre (IAMC)

The International Amenity Migration Centre (IAMC) operates to:

  • advance the knowledge and understanding of migration for quality-of-life to rural, rurban and small urban areas
  • advise on related planning and management for the equitable sustainability of their human communities and symbiotic natural ecologies

In undertaking this mission, IAMC approaches the socio-cultural, political-economic and bio-physical dimensions in an integrated manner. IAMC has a particular interest and expertise in mountain regions of western North America and Pacific Asia.

IAMC has an extensive global information bank on quality-of-life migration/amenity migration. Senior researchers and advisors of the Centre have specific experience and skill in strategic analysis and planning, and have worked extensively with indigenous peoples and small communities on equitable sustainable development.
