The Baslay Farmers Association (BFA) is recognized for the cultivation and production of natural, shade-grown, single-origin coffee. The organization has successfully established a mountain coffee shop right at the heart of the coffee zone, where they can market and sell their products. The BFA received the 2018 Lopez Achievement Award with their entry titled “Beans of Hope: From Kaingeros to Green Warriors”. Their current outlook is on increasing ecotourism in the Negros Oriental province. The organization’s goal is to be a top agro-ecotourism destination site offering unique experiences in organic agriculture, agroforestry education, local products like premium coffee and cocoa, mountain trekking, bird watching, and canopy walks for tourists to enjoy. |
