Case studies on mountain migration trends20.07.2017Your case studies are invited for a publication on migration trends in mountains. The publication, being produced by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat (MPS) and the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern, Switzerland, will be a contribution to the theme of International Mountain Day 2017, “Mountains Under Pressure – climate, hunger, migration”, with the aim of better understanding a phenomenon that is strongly impacting the development of mountain areas. At this time, the MPS is collecting offers of case studies on the following broad themes: The drivers of migration are to be highlighted in case study offers as much as possible. If you are interested in proposing one or more case studies, please send the following items via email to [email protected] by 3 August: Once the MPS has received all offers of case studies, offers will be reviewed and a representative number will be selected, taking into account geographic distribution, themes and implementing and funding organizations. If your case study is chosen, you will be contacted at the beginning of August with further details. At that time, and only if your proposal is selected, a full case study will need to be provided. Its total length should be no more than 1 000 words, which will possibly be edited, and submitted with up to five high-quality images, of which some or all may be used. All those who contributed full case studies will be acknowledged in the publication and receive a copy of it. Kindly note that, as the final text of this publication must be ready by October 2017, full case studies will need to be submitted by 10 September. Please share this call for case studies within your networks and with those colleagues who may be interested in submitting a case study. Photo: FAO/Asim Hafeez |
