Multimedia on policy recommendations for SMD in the Andes

During the Regional Workshop Post-Rio +20 "Sustainable Mountain Development: Building the future we need" held on November 12-14 in Lima, Peru, the Consortium for Sustainable Development of the Andean Ecoregion (CONDESAN) launched a multimedia which containing key information and policy recommendations for sustainable mountain development in the Andes.

The media entitled "The Andes and the future we need" is available online for its dissemination and sharing at: http://especiales.infoandina.org/nuestrosandes/

This multimedia has three chapters. The first entitled "Our Andes" is an introductory section explaining what the Andes are and its main features. The second chapter "Political action required by the Andes", is the central chapter of the multimedia where policy recommendations are presented with their arguments. The third and final chapter "Sustainable Mountain Development" presents a timeline with regional and global agreements, summits, events, treaties and instruments,  in the period 1992-2012 which influenced initiatives, policies and institutional frameworks for sustainable development in the Andes.

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Mountain Partnership (Decentralized Hub of Latin America) supported the production of this multimedia.
