Programmes in Myanmar

Under the new Country Programming Framework for Myanmar, a total of three priority areas have been considered for FAO assistance in Myanmar for a period of six years - 2017-2022. The priority areas are:        

  1. Enhanced food security, nutrition and food safety;
  2. Strengthened governance and sustainable management of land, forest, water resources and ecosystems; and
  3. Enhanced resilience of local communities and farming households to natural and humanitarian disasters, climate change and transboundary and emerging infectious disease risks.

Cross-cutting areas:

In addition, FAO will contribute support in the following cross cutting issues:

  • Capacity development
  • Gender equity and equality
  • Ethnic group rights
