International Quinoa Conference "Quinoa for Future Food and Nutrition Security in Marginal Environments"

Dubai will host the biggest international conference of 2016 on quinoa “Quinoa for Future Food and Nutrition Security in Marginal Environments”. Over 200 prominent scientists, policy-makers, leaders, experts and professionals representing more than 46 countries will come together to discuss and analyze various aspects (including social, ecological, and economic) related to introducing quinoa for sustainable agricultural production in marginal environments.

The conference is organized by the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Zayed University, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (ABEDA), with the tehncial support of the Food and Agricultural Organist ion of the United Nations (FAO).

The conference is held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance of the UAE and President of Zayed University.

The conference aims to provide a unique platform for discussions on ecological, economic and social aspects related to introducing quinoa for sustainable agricultural production in marginal environments. It will bring together leading scientists, practitioners and decision-makers from the public and private sectors to showcase the latest developments in quinoa research, production and trade.

The conference will:
