The Italian Institute for Environmental Research and Protection (ISPRA) today joined FAO and three of Italy's main research institutions - the National Research Council (CNR), the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA), and the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) - in a partnership aimed at enhancing sustainable food production and nutrition in developing countries.

Global fish production will continue to expand over the next decade even though the amount of fish being captured in the wild has levelled off and aquaculture's previously explosive growth is now slowing, says a new report from FAO.

The FAO Food Price Index averaged 173.7 points in June, down 1.3 percent from its level in May. The decline was driven primarily by lower quotations for wheat, maize and vegetable oils including those made from soybeans.
