Nigeria hunger crisis deepens, spills over to Lake Chad Basin

24 February 2017, Rome--- The UN’s Food and Agriculture has issued a warning that the food security situation in Nigeria and the Lake Chad basin is drastically deteriorating. They are calling for swift and decisive action from the international community to protect the livelihoods of millions of families who are dependent on farming, livestock and fishing for their food and livelihoods. The deepening crisis in the region now involves four countries: Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria.
