FAO and Norway to help developing countries monitor forest resources

13 April 2015, Rome--- Norway and FAO have signed a new partnership agreement for approximately $4.5 million to help 13 developing countries monitor and report on their forest. The project is meant to facilitate access to data sources, as well as develop an easy-to-use platform for processing and interpreting this data.

Erik Lindquist is a forestry officer with FAO. In the following interview he breaks down the challenges of data collection for the forest sector and how this new software will help. (Interview conducted by Sandra Ferrari)
