Today the COVID-19 pandemic is adversely affecting every person on earth – and the humanitarian and development sectors are not spared. Lockdown restrictions resulted among others, in slowdowns of deliveries, other widespread emergency measures and border controls which, in turn, posed an immediate threat to the United Nations’ efforts to provide vital assistance to end hunger and malnutrition around the world.
