Minister of State for India speaks about food security

9 October 2013, Rome-- Ministers and high level delegates continue to participate in discussions, attend meetings and visit some of the many CFS side events this week at FAO headquarters. Through the bustle of this busy work week, some honored Ministers and delegates are visiting FAO studios to give us their thoughts on Food Security in their respective countries.

H.E. K.V. Thomas is the Minister of State for the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in India. In the following interview, he discusses the right to food passed by India’s Parliament, the strengths of India’s agricultural sector and his thoughts on the way forward.
