Opening of the 158th Session of the FAO Council

4 December 2017, Rome--- The 158th Session of the FAO Council started today at FAO headquarters in Rome. The FAO Council manages administrative and financial affairs between biennial meetings of the FAO Conference. Eight cabinet-level officials - from Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Zambia, Paraguay and the Russian Federation - are participating in the week-long meeting, which side events focusing on climate change, migration and food safety as well as World Soil Day on Tuesday.
