1. Arthur Mariante works at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) as project leader of Genetic Resources and Biotechnology; he has been nominated by his government as National Coordinator for the Management of Animal Genetic Resources and was recently elected by the National Coordinators of other countries of his region as Regional Coordinator for Latin America & the Caribbean. Better trade control can help protect and preserve animal genetic resources, he said.
